Get a Clue - Heads Up!

A FREE guessing game you can create and play on your mobile devices

If you love Heads Up! then you will love this FREE and easy to use tool to spread some fun in your workshops or meeting. The game itself is a fast-paced guessing game where one player holds a word to their forehead while others give clues to help them guess it before time runs out. It is typically played using a phone. ClueUp.Fun

At ClueUp.Fun you can create card decks on any topic you want. I created a quick one on Calfresh – the food assistance program in California. You can check it out at the link below.

Watch the video for help on how to play and create the cards.

You can also use a no tech or offline approach and do what I do- put a sticky note with the word written on it on a birthday cone hat or other headwear. Any old head gear will work.

Here’s a breakdown of how to play:

🎉 Game Setup

  • Got to ClueUp.Fun

  • Choose a deck or create a deck: The app offers themed decks like celebrities, movies, accents, animals, and more.

  • Gather players: You need at least two people—one guesser and one or more clue-givers.

🧠 How to Play

  • Start the round: The guesser holds the phone to their forehead. A word or phrase appears on the screen facing the other players.

  • Give clues: The other players describe the word without saying it directly. They can act it out, give hints, or use synonyms.

  • Guess the word: The guesser tries to figure out the word based on the clues.

  • Tilt to score:

    • Tilt the phone down if the guess is correct (scores a point).

    • Tilt the phone up to pass (no point).

  • Beat the timer: You have 60 seconds to guess as many words as possible.

🏆 Winning and Variations

  • Scoring: The app tracks how many correct guesses you make per round.

  • Offline play: You can also play a physical version using cards or sticky notes with words written on them.

🔥 Tips for Success

  • Be expressive: Use gestures, impressions, and creative clues.

Have fun learning my friends :)
